Donut, by its nickname, has not had an easy journey. The poor girl had only known life in a shelter and was transferred from kennel to kennel. So she was sad and terribly afraid of humans. However, when she met Jacqueline Colette, everything changed.
The association Austin Pets Alive! located in the state of Texas to United Stateswas in charge donut. But before that, the unfortunate girl, aged only 7 months, had been picked up by a good Samaritan in the middle of the street and then entrusted to a shelter which had caught fire a few days after her arrival. Fortunately, she had escaped unscathed.
She then contracted parvovirus and was therefore transferred to an intensive care unit. Another twist of fate, a sewer pipe had burst, flooding the establishment. All the canids present had been evacuated in an emergency.
Austin Pets Alive! therefore began looking for a foster home for donut so that she socializes and relearns to trust in a warm environment. It was absolutely necessary for the survivor to regain her joie de vivre so that she could one day be adopted and enjoy life to the full.
Jacqueline Colette answered the call.
“This baby is 6 or 7 months old and has been transferred so many times… She has never had a home or a basket just for her”lamented Jacqueline.

A real thunderbolt
donut immediately expressed his desire to leave with the woman. She passed a paw through the railings of her box to attract the attention of the benefactress.
“The scared pup had never shown affection since his arrival”explained a spokesperson to The Dodo.
Jacqueline therefore completed the paperwork and settled in comfortably donut in her car to take her home. The young dog was nervous. She was shaking and had her tail between her legs.

The woman then gave him a good bath. “She put her head in my hand and she looked at me as if to say: thank you madam”told Jacqueline.
The first night was complicated for the young dog who had only known life in a shelter. She preferred to sleep outside. Never mind, Jacqueline took out her blanket and lay beside her without saying a word.
donut then moved closer and snuggled up to her new mistress. She had decided to trust him.

In 3 days, the duo was inseparable. Jacqueline already knew that she could no longer do without her furry friend. She therefore adopted it definitively.
Since, donut took his ease. She is happier than ever and has found her partner for life. “It’s amazing to see the gratitude in his eyes”concluded Jacqueline.
