Football – Mercato – PSG
After three seasons, Leonardo was dismissed from his post at the end of his second term as sporting director of PSG. To replace him, it is Luis Campos who landed and the Portuguese leader lands with his methods and his networks, starting with the one that leads to Jorge Mendes. The first rumors in Paris concern players managed by the famous agent (Vitinha, Renato Sanches or Diego Moreira). It’s no surprise considering that the two men have worked together several times in the transfer market, notably at AS Monaco. Le 10 Sport invites you to discover the five most striking shots of the Campos-Mendes duo.
5)Joao Moutinho
This is one of the first transfers of Luis Campos at theAS Monaco. Arrived at the sporting direction of the club du Rocher in 2013, he does not hesitate to quickly convince his management to invest 25M€ in Joao Moutinho. A choice that will pay off since the former midfielder of the FC Porto will establish himself as one of the strong men of the club with which he will play 219 games before his departure for Wolverhampton in 2018. Joao Moutinho was obviously part of the French champion team and semi-finalist of the Champions League in 2017.
4) Fabinho
The same summer Luis Campos recruits another midfielder who will establish himself as a reference to his position: Fabinho. Unknown to the general public, the Brazilian arrives in the form of a loan from Rio Ave. L’AS Monaco will exercise its purchase option two years later for approximately €6 million. An incredible deal given the size that will take Fabinho at theAS Monaco. Pillar of the team titled in 2017, the ephemeral player of Real Madrid will be coveted by the PSG at the end of this season before finally joining liverpool in 2018 for €45 million. A sacred sporting and economic affair.
3) Bernardo Silva
There too it is a masterful blow completed by the duo Luis Campos–Jorge Mendes. In 2014, theAS Monaco spends the tidy sum of €15.75m to recruit a young attacking midfielder from Benfica. It is a certain Bernardo Silva. The 20-year-old has only played 3 games for his parent club, but that’s not getting cold Luis Campos, convinced to hold a nugget. And the future will prove him right since Bernardo Silva will quickly establish himself as a crucial player for the Monegasque club where he had the heavy task of making people forget James Rodriguez. Besides, his talent will not escape Pep Guardiola since Manchester City did not hesitate to drop €50m to recruit him in 2017.
2) James Rodriguez
However, the relationship between Jorge Mendes and Luis Campos has not simply led to the recruitment of young talents since in 2013, theAS Monaco strikes very hard for its return to Ligue 1. Indeed, the Rocher club is dropping 45M€ to bring James Rodriguez coming from FC Porto. The transfer of the Colombian is still to this day the most important in the history of theAS Monaco. But after a very successful season, including 14 assists, and above all a brilliant World Cup, James Rodriguez was sold for €75 million to real Madrid. It only took one year to realize a capital gain of €30 million.

A huge blow from Luis Campos then that in 2013, the Colombian striker is considered one of the most formidable scorers in Europe with his 70 goals in two seasons with theAtletico de Madrid. In Monaco, the passage of Radamel Falcao will have experienced ups and downs, but he will still have scored a whopping 83 goals in 140 appearances.
